Colleagues leading the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) CZ initiative have published an article that presents a comprehensive overview of the Czech approach to the national implementation of EOSC. It briefly and practically summarizes the current plans for the development of our national data infrastructure for FAIR research data. It is now available for reading in the arXiv scientific papers repository.
The pre-print article "EOSC CZ: Towards the development of Czech national ecosystem for FAIR research data" provides a comprehensive summary of the near future of research data management in the Czech Republic.
"At the time when the printing press was invented, the number of published books grew enormously, which also created the need to systematise their records. Today, in the world of science and research, the primary focus is no longer on books, but on data. And it is the growing importance of data in research that has resulted in the need for improved access to data storage, management and sharing. However, the current heterogeneous approach to data management is already clearly hampering scientific progress, especially in the area of reproducibility of scientific results. The EOSC initiative and its implementation in the Czech Republic therefore aims to build a facility for the management and sharing of FAIR research data," says Matej Antol, the main project manager of the EOSC-CZ system strategy project, which is the umbrella for this national initiative and its sub-projects.
Luděk Matyska, Michaela Capandová, Jiří Marek and Jaroslav Juráček also contributed to the article.
