The project of the next part of the frame project Czech Dictionary of Musician and Music Institutions is going to continue the first part funded by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (the three-year project GA 408/01/1460 is going to be finished by the end of 2003). The project was leaded by professor Jiří Fukač until his dead in November 2002. Since then, the leadership has been taken by Dr. Mikuláš Bek in close cooperation with Dr. Petr Macek. Another part of the project (specific set of articles) is funded from a research grant of the Czech Ministry of Culture. The dictionary is available on-line at the web address www.musicologica. cz. The dictionary should cover all significant subjects of the musical culture of the Czech Lands in the past and present. It is a long-term frame project, which should offer about 16 000 articles in 10 years. The proposed third part of the dictionary, planned as a three-year project will focus on the sphere of popular music. It should comprise 2400 pages of text (1 800 characters a page) by leading specialist in this area of research.
