The proposed project is devoted to production of chemically active species by pulsed high voltage discharges in water. The goal of the project is to compare physical and chemical characteristic of three Different types of pulsed discharges in water, to c ontribute to understanding of discharge formation in liquid and to identify conditions for efficient degradation of a low level organic pollutants in water. The same diagnostic methods ( time resolved measurements of the discharge current and voltage, ti me resolved optical spectroscopy, fast photography, liquid chromatography and absorption spectroscopy ) will be used for investigation of the corona discharge between coaxial electrodes with special composite inner anode, for corona discharge in poit-to- plane electrode geometry and for so-called diaphragm discharge. Some effort will also be devoted to optimization of the pulsed power supplies ( voltage amplitude, internal impedance, pulse shape and its duration ). We expect that analysing dta from the al
