Description | This study brings neo-formalist analysis of functions of music in the film Devil's Trap (1961) by the Czech director František Vláčil composed by Zdeněk Liška. Chosen methodological approach (based on works by David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson) synthesises former structuralist attitudes and contains advisable theoretical tools for this kind of analysis. This paper is a contribution to the history of style of Czech cinematography of the 1960s. |
