Description | Under a "disguise" of an incentive from Czechoslovakia, the Soviet ministry of culture initiated a series of conferences. The initial goal was to get the situation in the satellite countries under control, to re-establish the norms of socialist realism as the main rule of film aesthetics, and to tame the atmosphere in the "rebellious" countries, especially in Poland. The paper will focus on the conference meetings as specific events whose spatial, temporal and personal coordinates formed their political meaning. |
