Description | Monogeneans belonging to the family Diplozoidae are common parasites on the gills of cyprinid fish. The results of our work describe new diplozoid species and new cyprinid host Garra rufa, (Heckel, 1843) (Cyprinidae). New species differs from the other species in the genus Paradiplozoon by the morphology of the clamps sclerites, especially by the shape and form of the connection of the anterior jaws to the median plate and by size of the central hook sickle. Sequenced rDNA contained partial sequences of 5.8S and 28S and complete sequence of ITS2 region. According to the BLAST comparison, the obtained rDNA sequence showed very low similarity with already known species (71% - 75%). |
