| Description | Workshop was aimed on developing new features in DSpace system (with help of API) and creating new web interfaces using Manakin (XMLUI) system. Target audience of the workshop were software developers and IT specialists. At first the DSpace architecture was deeply described (3-layer architecture, objects, used technologies and their connection to the API), code testing (Hello World!) and basic examples how to use DSpace API was shown (Context object, DSpace objects classes, Browse* classes, authorization for Users and Groups, Handle identifiers). Using of third party libraries was explained together with access to system configuration via API. As a real example the DML-CZ project was introduced and described. Next part of the workshop was aimed at Manakin (XMLUI) system and described how to build a web user interface. the architecture of the Manakin was explained in deep (pipelines, DRI, Aspects, themes) and several examples was shown. |
