Description | The historian dealing with the topic of Law in the Roman Republic can get interesting information from works of ancient authors. Unfortunately, the information about legislative activities isn't usually very detailed and often is in a form of a short note. In my contribution, I would like to show, with the help of Livy's book VII, some challenges the historian faces. I chose the Seventh book because it contains numerous longer and shorter texts about various types of Roman legislative activities and therefore it is a good illustrative example. |
