| Description | In the first part of my paper I spoke about the diplomatic relations between three most important empires in the Europe in 6th century – the Visigothic Hispania, the Frank kingdoms in Gaul and the Byzantine empire in the East. I focused on the second half of the century covering the reigns of Athanagild, Leovigild and Reccared. In the second part I commented the role of prince Athanagild, the little son of rebel prince Hermenegild and his Frank wife Ingund, in the diplomatic negotiations between the three countries based on contemporary historiographical and diplomatic sources, primarily on the so-called Epistolae Austrasiacae. |
