Description The article focuses on several principles of personal data protection legal framework and procedures of public bodies responsible for their legal enforcement, which are in a direct collision with new technologies and uses of information, like Big data. Relevant institutes and judicial rulings are analysed and thus is shown, how strict application of personal data protection rules can cause absurd situations disconnected from the needs of people living in the real world. In the last part of the article are offered methods, which could possibly help to solve analysed problems.
