Description | In this work we try to connect research on student modeling and student motivation, particularly on the relation between task difficulty and engagement. We perform experiments within widely used adaptive practice system for geography learning. The results document the impact of the choice of a question construction algorithm and target difficulty on student perception of question suitability and on their willingness to use the system. We also propose and evaluate a mechanism for a dynamic difficulty adjustment. |
