Description | Coplanar barrier discharge, operated at AC high voltage of 9.5 kHz in helium at atmospheric pressure, was studied by phase resolved imaging with ICCD camera (PROES) and by phase resolved single photon counting (PRSPC). The 2D-resolved PROES measurement on singlet helium lines 667.8 and 728.1 nm provided a detailed electric field development in observed ionization waves. The method of PRSPC enabled us to record spectra during the dark phase of the discharge. A weak prebreakdown light, observed both with PROES and PRSPC and attributed to a bremsstrahlung radiation of electrons on helium atoms, served for a measurement of low electric fields about 1 Td in the dark phase |
