Description In this paper, optical properties of the multilayer system with rough boundaries and uniaxial anisotropic media are calculated using a mathematical model based on the Rayleigh-Rice theory and Yeh matrix formalism. The optical axis is assumed to be oriented perpendicular to the mean plane of the boundaries. The matrix formalism developed by Yeh makes the numerical processing extremely effective. The derived formulae are demonstrated on several numerical examples.
