Description The use of technologies and teaching methods related to problem-solving in geography are long discussed topics not only in the Czech Republic (Karvánková, 2017). The connection is not sufficiently mapped in our country. The aim of the paper is to present the current state of knowledge in the field by linking teaching with geographical information systems (GIS) and inquiry-based learning in geography teaching. I pursue the aims, the methods used, the results of empirical studies and the theoretical grasp of the topic. Based on the results of the overview study, research will be proposed, which will be a part of the doctoral thesis.
