Description | The paper describes the impact of the development program for teachers on their ability to increase the participation of students in classroom discourse. In this paper, we focus on the process of introducing a change of one teacher. The empirical results describe the interconnectedness of three processes of change: 1) changes on the side of the sceptical teacher, 2) changes on the side of the whole class, and 3) changes of silent students refusing to participate in the dialogue with teacher and other students. We discuss the results using current theoretical and research findings, and we build on and qualitatively develop our previous research. |
