| Description | This is a critical edition of a new Czech translation of Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet by Filip Krajník. The uniqueness of the translation consists in the close cooperation of the translator with dramaturges and theatrologists which strived to produce a text that would to the greatest extent mediate the theatrical potential of the original. The publication contains an introductory essay written by the translator. The essay describes historical and cultural contexts of Shakespeare's Hamlet and offers interpretation of the key themes of the play. The study includes bibliography; the edition additionally includes an editorial note explaining the textological work with the play, and an apparatus criticus, accompanying the play itself. |
