Description | Almost half of all enzymes must cooperate with metal ions to function. Most metalloproteins play a crucial role in metabolically essential processes. They also significantly impact the progression of various human diseases, including cancer, heart disease, and HIV/AIDS. Due to this reason, they are an attractive medical target for the treatment of a wide range of human disorders. |
