Description The 6th and 7th century Slavs moved around a lot because of their lifestyle. They looked for mostly flat, fertile areas near rivers. They lived in houses partially sunk into ground and later in surface-built houses. The houses were concentrated around a courtyard belonging to large families that later disintegrated. The Slavs traded mainly among themselves but also with neighbouring peoples by exchange trade.
