Description Decomposition of organic precursors - hydrocarbons and alcohols, was used to synthesize graphene and generate hydrogen using a high temperature environment formed by dual-channel microwave plasma torch discharge at atmospheric pressure. Heat field instability formed by the interaction of central channel argon gas flow and secondary channel precursor gas flow strongly depended on C/H ratio of the precursor gas mixture. As a result, the yield and quality of graphene and amount of hydrogen generated in the process could be closely controlled. Plasma chemical processes were monitored using optical emission spectroscopy and spectral imaging and the gas phase products were analyzed by FTIR spectrometry. Prepared nanomaterial was characterized by SEM, Raman and XPS spectroscopy.
