Description | A three-compartment Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model coded in MatLab incorporates blood, liver, and a collective representation of other body tissues, diverging from traditional designs by emphasising blood. The model is built on the conceptual framework proposed by Upton et al. (2016) but utilises updated parameter values for adult humans and introduces partition coefficients, enhancing distribution accuracy. Its simplicity and comprehensiveness promote better understanding and ensure interoperability and reusability, adhering to “the Minimum information requested in the annotation of biochemical models (MIRIAM)” set of rules and contemporary recommendations for PBPK model development. |
