Description Dental wear is described as the gradual loss of hard dental tissue leading to a change in the shape of the crown. In addition to age, this phenomenon is influenced by other factors, such as work activity, which can help reconstruct the way of life of historical populations. People used their teeth to help themselves while performing various work techniques, which could be manifested in the form of stronger dental wear of a group of teeth, the occurrence of grooves, notches, chipping, etc. Together with the degree of dental wear, these changes were analysed in mature individuals from the burial grounds of Brno-Tuřany, belonging to the Únětice culture, and Hroznová Lhota, which belongs to the Nitra culture. These burial grounds were dated to the Early Bronze Age and are two neighbouring cultures, where cultural differences are documented, but also mutual influence, e.g. pottery and burial rites in border areas. In individuals from both analysed groups, changes in dental wear caused by possible work activities were observed, with differences found between the groups.
