Description The polarization of light can serve as the fundamental concept for fiber optic sensors. In our earlier publications, we discussed the examination of the correlation between the signal differential group delay in the slow and fast axes of a birefringent optical fiber and the longitudinal tension. We encountered some surprising findings, which we aim to investigate and clarify in this paper.
