Description Homocysteine is known independent risk factor for AMI. But there are very rare knowledge about homocysteine metabolism during AMI. The purpose of this study was follow-up the total plasma homocysteine concentrations during the course af AMI. The total levels of homocysteine are influenced by AMI. The lower concentrations were found on admission, than the concentrations transiently increased with maximum on 5th day. The large cohort of patients and longer follow-up are necessary to prove the hypothesis that the initial concentrations of homocysteine are followed by transient increase during thee course of AMI.
