Description	We conclude that RAGE haplotype consisting of -429C/-374T/+2184G alleles can be regarded one of genetic risk factors of susceptibility and progression of diabetic nephropathy (DN). Character of asociation, frequency of risk haplotype and gain-of-function type of effect are in agreement with the results of segregation analyses of DN in T2DM.
