Description | A novel dimeric adduct, trans-[(py)POF3]2, formed from two PF3NO2 octahedral units sharing a common O-O edge has been isolated from the C5H5N-POF3 reaction system. Similarly, reaction of diphosphoryl tetrafluoride with 2,2'-bipyridine afforded a so far unknown donor-stabilized fluorophosphonium cation in the compound [(bipy)P3O4F6]+[PO2F2]-. According to an X-ray structure analysis, the central phosphorus atom is hexacoordinated and both bridging O atoms are in trans-arrangement. |
