Citation
Description Natural language is one of the the most powerful manifestations of complexities of human minds and the most expressive means of communication and understanding. Therefore, the future technological, cultural and social development needs to take into account the power of language. This paper deals with the experience of the BalkaNet project that aims at building parallel lexical databases for 5 Balkan languages. BalkaNet has been a remarkable initiative of the Balkan scientific and research communities towards establishing a harmonized and fruitful collaboration among the South Eastern Europe. However, we strongly believe that BalkaNet has a lot more to offer in the direction of strenghtening Balkan ties with the European community.
