| Description | Repeated exposure to drugs of abuse results in a typical progressive enhancement of their behavioural effects, namely stimulation of locomotion and occurrence of stereotypies. This phenomenon is termed behavioural sensitization. In our previous study we confirmed sensitization to methamphetamine (Met) stimulatory effects on locomotion in mice using our original dosage regimen. To investigate possible interspecies differences in susceptibility to drug sensitization we applied the same experimental design to rats. |
