Description | This special issue of Current Drug Targets Inflammation and Allergy entitled Regulation of pathogenetic aspects of allergic diseases is focused on the key areas of the regulation of pathogenetic aspects of allergic diseases including imbalanced Th1/Th2 responses with alterations of the cytokine network, functions of beta2-receptors, CD14 and Toll-like receptors and their alteration with responsiveness to therapeutic agents, altered prostaglandin and nitric oxide metabolisms and remodeling extracellular matrix by enzymes from matrix metalloproteinase family. This issue covers description of the structure of these substances and their genes, as well as methods for their study, results of genetic studies with the identification of the molecular targets and the relationship of this target to the allergic disorders. |
