Description | Experimental data related to the tubular system of guinea pig and rat ventricular cell were summarized and incorporated into quantitative models of cellular activity. The results of simulations suggest that activity-dependent depletion of Ca2+ within the t-tubule lumen lowers the intracellular Ca load, intracellular Ca2+ transients and hence the inotropic status of ventricular myocytes. |
