Description Some interactions between the teacher and the adolescent pupil in the pedagogical process may involve a considerable amount of stress. The research described in this article involved a group of 368 teachers at the elementary and secondary schools, both men and women, who defined these situations and determined their level of difficulty. They are mainly characterized by a very self-confident or even self-important behaviour of the pupils trying to have their way, asserting themselves in a rude way and lacking consideration for the others. With older teenagers, the teachers tend to be more tolerant of some of these ways, which in turn reduces their stress. The level of stress is affected by the gender factor (man and woman teachers) and the school level (basic/secondary schools). The study of this problem area may also be an important source of information for the teachers to draw on.
