Description The study consists of two basic parts a theoretical part and research. The theoretical part entitled Pedagogical Training Practice in the Context of the Undergraduate Teacher Education embraces an outline of the im-plementation of undergraduate teacher training in the Czech Republic, characterizes undergraduate teacher education as one of the phases in the life-long professional development of teachers, deals with the issues of the relationship between theory and practice and with the role of pedagogical training in the preparation of future teachers. The research puts forward the results of a research project carried out in 2003 and 2004 and brings data about the so-called optional and compul-sory student teaching practice. The research is oriented particularly to determining and verifying the reactions of the faculty, basic school teachers and students-classmates to the following activities: defining adequate aims and objectives of lessons establishing of rapport and communication dealing with pupils appropriate motivation of pupils specifying (selecting) lesson content activity passivity of pupils working with textbooks, workbooks, etc. employed learning methods and means appropriate lesson timing lesson management assessment and evaluation of pupils individual approach to pupils exploitation of educational moments in teaching solving disciplinary problems The research results confirmed that basic school mentors exert signifi-cant impact on shaping the didactic skills of the future teachers.
