Description Halogenated hydrocarbons represent very serious threat for ground and surface waters. They can be removed by the application of zero-valent iron. Reaction is generally represented by 1st order kinetics. Isotopes of C can be used to evaluate reaction progress. Reactive transport modeling is used to predict precipitation of secondary minerals in reactive material.
