Citation
Description Modern computing systems such as Maple (a package for symbolic computation) and MATLAB (a software system for numerical and symbolic computation and visualization of results), provide an opportunity to apply methods of scientific computing to solve real nontrivial problems in the classroom. This book presents a selection of interesting problems to illustrate some techniques for solutions to scientific and technical calculations. Engineering solutions for each problem is discussed and demonstrated with the use of Maple or MATLAB. Objectives are presented so that the reader can easily extend the techniques to more difficult tasks. The book is not an introduction to Maple and MATLAB (on the application of software systems should refer to the documentation Maple and MATLAB), it teaches methods of solutions based on real challenges. For students of engineering and science disciplines, conducting scientific and technical computing on computers.
