Description | We performed analysis of aberrations of the p53 gene in 40 cases of DLBCL by immunohistochemistry, western blotting, DNA sequencing, FISH and functional analysis of separated alleles in yeast (FASAY). In selected cases, we demonstrate advantages of complex analyses of p53 and beneficial features of FASAY, such as high sensitivity, ability to identify the mutations that are undetectable by immunohistochemistry. ability to identify partially inactivating p53 mutations, and ability to provide templates for DNA sequencing in those cases when analyses of gDNA and cDNA are not possible from tumor tissue due to low incidence of mutant variant of the p53 gene. |
