Description | Combination of gel electrophoresis (GE) with laser ablation (LA) in junction to ICP-MS is especially interesting technique for metalloprotein speciation. GE is practical namelly for off-line archiving and manipulation with separated sample, allowing easy distribution of sample between sensitive and structural parts of approach. LA-ICP-MS should allow quantitative transfer of metalloid specie off sample to unambiguously detectable ions. Disadvantages of this technique is work with dry gels and relatively frequent interferences of analyte signal analytu with signals of ion associates of carrying gas and other components of analysed mixtures during detection in mass spectrometer. |
