Description	Contextual adaptable visualization takes advantage of the fact that map visualization can vary in time, and therefore the map can be adapted according to the so-called context. A number of practical problems have to be solved during its practical implementation. The paper focuses on discrepancies between adaptability and standardization and on problematic issues related to generalization. It also contains practical examples.
