Description | In Spring 2007, Prof. Sterling's \emph{Introduction to High Performance Computing} has been delivered in a virtual classroom consisting of 5 sites spanning several US states and Czech Republic. A high fidelity environment used a unique system that captured, transmitted and displayed the HD video in uncompressed form. However, semesters start at different times, the time zones move the lecture to locally non-acceptable time of night. A store and replay technique, higher density of lecture presentation and similar approaches had been used to mitigate the time shift problem. |
