| Description | CESNET2 is a national highspeed computer network dedicated to research and education.Its backbone interconnects larges academic citiesin Czech republic.It has a reach history going from begining of Internet informely Czechoslovakia. Everytime only advanced technology was used in this network. Next to high bandwidth and internet connectivity this netword offers to its users a set of advanced or not common services like IP telephony, IPv4 multicast or IPv6. These not very common services are very interesting from point of view of transport over large scale network. There are not som any published examples or case-studies of these services.In this article we describe a case study of IPv4 multicast transport in CESNET2 network.Multicast offers interesting capabilities a specially for videoconferencing, internet radio and TV and other applications. Delivering of this service is from technology point of view very interestings we describe itin detail in this paper. |
