Description | The paper summarizes the authors' findings on alkali-silica reactions in constructions made from OPC concretes. Due to low alkali content in Portland clinker of commercially distributed cements, this process does not usually occur. Results of micropetrographic and chemical analyses and EDX analyses of volcanic aggregates are given. Along with them, chemical analyses of binder separated parts and influence of carbonate aggregates are discussed. Subsequently, sulphate attack and zeolitization of OPC concretes accompanying ASR are observed. Geovisualization of aggregate micropetrographic composition represent an important information for risk management. |
