Description The application of information and communication technologies (ICT) to science as well as other subjects, is one of the methods how to motivate students and to make the subjects as biology, chemistry and physics more attractive. In order to find out how students perceive the application of ICT to lessons, we taught one biology lesson with the help of ICT in two classes of the third year of the general upper secondary school students. The number of the participating students was 70, out of it 29 boys and 41 girls. The students evaluated the lesson by means of an anonymous questionnaire of 27 items scaled according to Likert. The results were processed by means of factor analysis. We tried to find out the statistically significant differences between boys and girls and between the two towns. In all the examined dimensions of evaluation of the lessons taught by means of ITC, the students from the bigger town as well as the girls evaluated the lessons more positively. The results show that this type of teaching is convenient for students and that ICT should be applied to teaching in a  greater extent.
