Description The information about an elemental distribution in fish scales can give insight to the degree of water pollution in the period of the fishs life. Samples of recent fish scales from fresh water lakes were studied. The suitability of two different techniques allowing the elemental mapping was proven Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) and Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS).
