Description | We examined blood plasma levels of thiols just before FSH application and before oocyte retrieval and follicular fluid concentrations after stimulation. In blood plasma, the homocysteine and cysteine concentrations decreased significantly during stimulation with FSH and we found an inverse relation for glutathione. The correlations between follicular fluid and plasma homocysteine and cysteine concentrations were statistically significant. Relationship was not found between homocysteine, cysteine and glutathione levels and a number of retrieved oocytes, embryos and pregnancy rate. |
