Description Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most important risk factor for development of CIN and cervical cancer. We analyse HPV16 E6 gene promoter methylation. Incidence of HPV16 significantly differed (P<0.001,chi-square test of Pearson). Methylation was detected and statistical significant differencies were found (P<0.001; Pearsons chi-square test). Methylation of the E6 gene promoter is predictive biomarker for cervical cancer progression.
