Description Flow cytometry is a modern technique for quick genome size measurement. This method is widely used in biomedical research, here we show application of it in experimental botany and zoology. Flow cytometry is used for studying species specific markers as : genome size, variability, GC content and causes and consequences of polyploidy in plants.
