Description | Microclimate monitoring and sap flow measurements in a birch forest were carried out in the Uryu Experimental Forest of Hokkaido University, Japan. The study site was located in the northern part of Hokkaido in the altitude of 590 m. Sap flow measurements were based on the tissue heat balance method using T4.1 sap flow meters (EMS Brno) in the period of May - October 2004. Stand transpiration was compared to the potential evapotranspiration based on the Penman-Monteith equation. |
