Description | The industrial revolution in the middle of 19th century brought economic and social changes that were reflected in the landscape design. The industrial utilization of the landscape has changed at the end of 20th century as the result of political and economical changes. The industrial landscape turned to the post-industrial when many plants and factories were closed and left. GIS methods and data available for the Czech Republic territory can be used for the post-industrial landscape identification and delineation. The article presents the attempt to identify both the industrial and post-industrial landscape indicators by GIS evaluation of existing data. For its recent mining and industrial history, the Oslavany-Rosice region was chosen as the model area for new methodology testing. |
