Description One of the fundamental prerequisites of the successful schizophrenia treatment is represented by an adequately significant impact on the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. The current majority opinion is that rTMS could be an efficient nonpharmacological method in the treatment of the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. However, the problem consists in the low amount of patients included, different profile of negative symptoms, variable stimulating parameters or the absence of longer monitoring of the stimulating effect survival in the majority of the studies. The meta-analyses indicate that the effect rate is mild to moderate (d=0.43 to 0.68) according to the character of studies included into the statistical analysis. It may be summarized that there will be higher probability of the rTMS effect on the negative symptoms in case of 10 Hz stimulating frequency and longer stimulation period, reaching at least three, ideally four to six weeks.
