Description | Cartographic support is an important part of the decision making process. Spatial knowledge is crucial in all phases of the crisis management cycle. This article presents a novel cartographic approach to crisis management. So-called adaptive mapping seeks to implement effective decision making by adapting map visualization to user needs, i.e. to users’ context. Using the example of a “FLOOD” study, the article documents the delimitation of different types of contexts that significantly influence map legibility and usability. |
