Description | Within the scope of the research project "Dynamic Geovisualization in Crisis Management" a series of separate sub-studies were carried out. They were focused both on work of professionals and their situations (for example the operators of emergency call 112) that deals emergencies, and on the other hand also to individuals who are in such situations and have to solve it. The condition for initiation of effective rescue operation by the Integrated Rescue System units is not only notification of a type of emergency event, but mainly correct localization of the event. The base of localization is the most appropriate description of the incident by the involved person and the operator questioning for the details follow. These details specify the location of event and it also help reliably navigate rescue units. The fieldwork methods examined self-localization of participants in an unfamiliar environment. Emphasis was placed on the ecological validity and therefore a type of research was in the so-called large-scale environments. Participants were transported by car after a pre-defined route to the selected sites (rural type) and it has been simulated by calling the emergency services in situations where it is necessary to summon help in an accident such as for example the accident of cyclist. Calls were recorded and subsequently analyzed methods of localization of each participant for the type of information to take to locate. The results were interpreted from the perspective of the theories of cognitive styles. |
