| Description | The WHO classification of malignant blood diseases defines Waldenström macroglobulinemia as lymphoplasmocytic lymphoma with the presence of monoclonal immunoglobulin of IgM type. The goal of treatment is, like in other low-aggressive lymphoproliferative diseases, suppression of the pathological clone and induction of remission. |
